Umi is excited to announce that Umi Shoes will be partnering with our friend, Laurie Berkner on several upcoming projects. An award-winning, best-selling children’s recording artist, Laurie can be seen daily in music videos on Nick Jr. Laurie has been a friend of Umi Shoes since our beginning and we have been a fan of Laurie's for many years. Laurie will be performing on the East Coast this summer and Umi will be helping Laurie with donations of slightly used shoes from her audiences for the charitable organization, Soles 4 Souls.

WHO IS LAURIE BERKNER?

Laurie Berkner has been a professional musician since 1992, but her success as a children's recording artist was a surprise to her. "It was so unexpected," says Laurie. "I'd been performing in rock bands (including Lois Lane, an all-female cover band, as well as her own original rock band, Red Onion) and struggling to write original music. Writing music for kids has not been a struggle at all. The more I started working on material for children, the more I realized that it opened up creativity in me that I never knew I had.

The Laurie Berkner Band is: Laurie Berkner (guitar/vocals), Susie Lampert (keyboards), Adam Bernstein (bass) and Bob Golden (drums/percussion). Their concerts have been held across America at venues from the White House to Carnegie Hall.
